$20,000 Grant Award (2025)
This grant supported Michigan Humane’s Caplan Family Pet Food Pantry, helping provide critical pet food assistance to families in need across Detroit.
Impact Highlight
This grant helped provide over 7 million pet meals to 12,000 pets, allowing many families to keep their animals during times of financial hardship and preventing unnecessary pet surrender.
All About Animals Rescue
$5,000 Grant Award (2025)
This grant supported All About Animals Rescue’s work to provide spay/neuter, vaccination, and microchipping services for at-risk dogs in Detroit.
Impact Highlight
This grant funded the sterilization of 34 large-breed dogs, along with vaccinations and microchipping, preventing future litters and reducing pet overpopulation in targeted Detroit communities.

Dog Aide
$2,500 Grant Award (2025)
This grant supported Dog Aide’s Heartworm Prevention Program, providing free testing and prevention medication to dogs in Detroit.
Impact Highlight
This grant provided heartworm testing and 12 months of prevention medication to 40 dogs, with 100% protected from this deadly but preventable disease. All participating families reported they would not have been able to afford care without this support.
Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society
$2,500 Grant Award (2025)
This grant supported Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society’s expansion of its food and supply services program, increasing community outreach to pet owners in Detroit. Through direct, neighborhood-based engagement, the organization provides essential resources including pet food, shelter materials, leashes, vaccinations, and access to veterinary care for animals in need.

Through targeted outreach efforts, the program expanded access to essential care and resources for pet owners, helping to improve animal welfare and support families in underserved Detroit communities.

2024 Day Charitable Trust Grant Award
The 2024 Day Charitable Trust Grant Award was awarded to the Children’s Center. Through this partnership, approximately 200 low-income pregnant women, postpartum women, and infants aged 0-6 can be provided with basic needs such as food, formula, diapers, school clothing, beds, toddler car seats, a community shower, and workshops/education series. We believe the award can make a substantial impact on local maternal, infant and child health.

2025 Day Charitable Trust Grant Award
The 2025 Day Charitable Trust Grant Award was awarded to Michigan Humane. Through this partnership, an additional 11,000 unique owned pets in Detroit will receive free pet food through an expansion of the Caplan Family Pet Food Pantry, which serves people in need across Detroit by bringing free pet food to their neighborhood human food distributions. We believe this award can make a substantial impact on food security for vulnerable pet families.
2024 Day Charitable Trust Finalist Award
The 2024 Day Charitable Trust Finalist Award was awarded to the Natural Momma Me Initiative. We are excited to partner with the Natural Momma Me Initiative in helping to support the needs of low-income pregnant and post-partum women, infants, and young children living in Detroit. This award provides the opportunity to make a significant impact by providing local low-income families with much-needed supplemental diapers and feminine hygiene products.
